Fever

A fever is often a sign that the body is fighting an infection, not an illness in itself. Common causes include colds, viruses, and ear infections. Help your child by offering fluids, allowing rest, and dressing comfortably.

Contact a healthcare provider if your baby is very young and develops a fever, your child seems unusually unwell, or symptoms are severe or worsening.

Teething

Many babies begin teething between 4 and 12 months. Common signs include drooling, chewing on objects, gum rubbing, irritability, and wanting extra comfort. Many babies enjoy teething toys, chilled teething items, and extra cuddles.

Teething can cause discomfort, but severe symptoms should not automatically be blamed on teething.

Common Colds

Young children are still building their immune systems, so multiple colds each year is completely normal. Symptoms include runny nose, congestion, sneezing, mild fever, and cough. Rest, fluids, comfort, and time usually help.
