Breastfeeding

Getting started, what is normal, and tips

Breastfeeding is a learning process for both mother and baby. The first days and weeks often involve frequent feeding, learning positioning and latch, and building milk supply. Many parents find that breastfeeding becomes easier with time and practice.

Newborns often feed frequently day and night, cluster feed, and want comfort as well as nutrition. Frequent feeding in the early weeks is normal.
