Baby is now the size of a Brussels sprout

Welcome to Week 11. Your baby is growing rapidly and beginning to look more and more like a newborn. The head is still large compared to the body, but proportions are slowly becoming more balanced. Many of the critical structures formed during the first trimester are now developing and refining. For many mothers, first trimester symptoms are still present, but some may begin noticing the first signs of improvement. You are now getting very close to the second trimester.

Frequently asked questions

Is it normal if my nausea is improving?

Yes. Many people begin noticing gradual improvement around this time, as hormone levels start stabilizing.

Can my baby hear me yet?

Not yet. The structures involved in hearing are still developing and will become functional later in pregnancy.

Why am I having more discharge?

Increased vaginal discharge is common during pregnancy and is usually completely normal. It helps protect against infection.

Is my baby moving?

Yes. Your baby is moving quite a lot already, but the movements are still too small to feel. You may see activity at an ultrasound.
